Curacao Medical Center Achieves Milestone with First Successful FARAPULSE Case in the Caribbean, Powered by Boston Scientific’s Cutting-Edge Technology

Milestone

At MITEC Medical, we are thrilled to announce that the Curaçao Medical Center has successfully completed the first FARAPULSE™ Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) procedure in Curaçao, marking a significant milestone for the Caribbean region. This groundbreaking procedure is a testament to the collaborative efforts of Curaçao Medical Center, Boston Scientific, and MITEC Medical.

The introduction of the FARAPULSE™ PFA System, developed by Boston Scientific, is revolutionizing the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AFib). This technology selectively ablates cardiac tissue while minimizing the risk of damage to surrounding structures, enhancing both procedural safety and efficiency. Most importantly, it represents a major improvement in the quality of life for patients suffering from AFib.

This achievement places Curaçao alongside just three other locations in Latin America—Puerto Rico, Brazil, and Chile—where this state-of-the-art technology is available, making it a monumental step forward for cardiac care in the region.
